Greetings from Finland! I\u2019m Hanna Sirvi\u00f6 and I\u2019m part of the website service called BandOnTheWeb.com<\/a>. First of all, I\u2019d like to thank Cynthia for giving us this great opportunity to present you our service.<\/p>\n

I think most of us are familiar with the situation where you\u2019d want to form a band but you don\u2019t really know anyone or you have already a band but you\u2019re missing a member. Tryout sessions can be frustrating and time consuming. And speaking of time, people have jobs and families. Practicing with a band has often some scheduling issues.<\/p>\n

At Band on the Web, we try to make it a bit easier. We have an Online Audition system that you can use to find perfect musicians to co-create music with you. You don\u2019t need to invite anyone to your place nor go anywhere yourself. You can record a sample to the ad itself and people can listen to it immediately. Bands can also add a backing track to their ad, so the applicants can play with your music straight away.<\/p>\n

The same audiomixer that is used in Online Auditions is part of our Projects feature. A Project can be a complete song, or an idea bank<\/em>, where you can record riffs or melodies. If you\u2019re having trouble getting the band together for frequent rehearsals, you can make your songs as projects in Band on the Web.<\/p>\n

Play your parts of the song and, whenever your band members have time, they can add their parts to the project. When everyone has added their parts, you get a demo recording that you can publish and share! Every track is replaceable, so if you listen to the song and think you could do better, you can always record a new track and replace your original recording.<\/p>\n

Band on the Web AudioMixer<\/p><\/div>\n

The audio mixer has some basic tools, such as track specific volume and reverb control, metronome with tempo and meter adjustment tools and of course recording, uploading and sharing options. There\u2019s also a log and chat where you can see what has been done recently and what your band members have commented.<\/p>\n

And the best thing is: You don\u2019t need any software or plugins to do this. It all happens within your browser. You need only a working microphone to use bandontheweb.com.<\/p>\n

Bandontheweb.com is created by musicians for musicians. We also have great advisers from Finnish music industry that include professional musicians, label owners, and producers and managers. They give their experience in music field to this service. One of our advisers is Riku P\u00e4\u00e4kk\u00f6nen, he is the man who signed Nightwish and Children of Bodom to his record label back in 90\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Riku is also part of our new Producer Portal feature. In Producer Portal, bands and artists may purchase guaranteed attention, commentary, feedback, development ideas from known freelance producers with reasonable price. Unfortunately for non-Finns, the feature will be launched firstly only in Finland, but if you give your helping hand, sign in and make the service known, we will soon be able to contact other countries\u2019 producers too.<\/p>\n

Band on the Web launched this April and it is in beta phase, so your feedback and development ideas are appreciated and taken seriously.<\/p>\n
