With 37 years of writing experience, 5 published books, over 100 published articles and countless collaborative television, movie, live production and animation projects completed and in the works, I find myself still enamored with the craft of writing.<\/p>\n<p>The art of writing has always allowed me a sense of unrestricted freedom that I\u2019ve adored since the age of seven. My format is mine without apologies.\u00a0 This art relinquishes the extreme structure that other art forms require.<\/p>\n<p>My new novel, <em>THE BLOCK: Truth Revealed<\/em>, the sequel to <em>THE BLOCK<\/em>, will be released August 1, 2014.\u00a0 I\u2019m so excited for this book to get into readers\u2019 hands.\u00a0 The really amazing aspect of this series is that you don\u2019t have to have read the first book to enjoy any of the others. However, it will initiate curiosities that will lead you back to the book which proceeded the one being read.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, for those who have been following the series, <em>THE BLOCK: Truth Revealed<\/em> will satisfy questions from book one, set up curiosities pulling you into book three and will ignite a yearning for the final installment <em>THE BLOCK: The Labyrinth <\/em>which will hopefully be released in 2015<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I knew a reader who was so enthralled with trying to figure out stories that (in his mind) would sell, he wasn\u2019t tapping into his own creative process.\u00a0 He was attempting to copy someone else\u2019s idea for the sake of the possibility, not certainty, of a big paycheck.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2333\" src=\"http:\/\/amusednow.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Angela-Ardis-THE-BLOCK-Truth-Revealed-cover-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Angela Ardis THE BLOCK Truth Revealed\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/>My advice:<\/strong> <em>\u201cWrite what motivates you.\u00a0 Don\u2019t try to duplicate \u2018Harry Potter\u2019 or Stephen King. \u00a0Create stories that are yours.\u00a0 The fans\/readers will come and eventually, so will the paydays.\u00a0 Write stories you\u2019re proud of, instead of imitating what\u2019s already been done.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It might take a few months or a few years to complete your project. \u00a0The reality is that it doesn\u2019t matter.\u00a0 Keep grinding, stay focused and know the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is something you innately have within you at all times.
