Andrea Ward<\/p><\/div>\n

Andrea Ward, style advisor and makeover artist, takes a holistic approach to help men and women develop their own unique style and get noticed. Andrea enables people to become who they want to be \u201cin their starring role,\u201d whether it\u2019s to improve the way they\u2019re perceived in their daily life or to create an exciting stage presence.<\/p>\n

Style is more than what you look like and what you wear. It\u2019s about what Andrea calls your swagger. We all know this: First impressions count. Andrea says, \u201cThey\u2019re indelible. That\u2019s why it\u2019s so important to define yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Andrea describes her process, \u201cI really don\u2019t make anyone over. I inspire, I exude, I elevate and I tune you up. You are still who you are. I take the layers and elevate them. I work from the inside out. We cannot be someone else and why would we want to?\u201d You have to develop a style that is consistent with your internal personality.<\/p>\n

The process begins with a discussion about spirit and body. According to Andrea Ward, \u201cSpirit is about the essence of who you are. It\u2019s about the inspiration of your vision for yourself and who you want to be and portray in your life. The spirit exudes the beauty and confidence of the human being. \u201c<\/p>\n

Form comes next. \u201cForm is the showcase of who you are as a person.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andrea explains, \u201cYou have to love your spirit first, because someone can\u2019t fall in love with you unless you like you. Your body is only a featured showcase. It\u2019s a layer. It\u2019s what comes from inside that\u2019s the beauty.\u201d Andrea Ward talks about these concepts every day on her website, on Facebook and everywhere she goes.<\/p>\n

To drive this home, Andrea talks about the spirit\u2019s sense of memory and the concept of the entrance and the exit. \u201cIt\u2019s about how you remember someone.\u201d She asked, \u201cHave you ever walked into a room and thought: Who is that person? What drew me to her? What is it about someone that makes them exciting? We love watching the red carpet. We see Angelina Jolie and Taylor Swift and we ask ourselves what is it about them that excites me?\u201d<\/p>\n

Andrea Ward told me that it\u2019s more than the way you look. It\u2019s the way you carry yourself, your posture and poise. It\u2019s about how you sit, about how you move. It\u2019s about how you do everything. \u201cIt\u2019s like we\u2019re in this little square box. People see you in this box and they may think: I really like the way she nods her head. I like the way she looks at me. I love her smile.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andrea Ward is from Connecticut. She always wanted to be in the fashion industry; she started as a model. At 18-years-old, Andrea was 5\u201910\u201d and the perfect measurements for fit modeling at Macy\u2019s in New York. Later, she worked at a fashion house on 7th\u00a0Avenue that featured clothes from Yves Saint Laurent, Carolina Herrera and many of the great fashion icons. Andrea was fortunate to be mentored by some of the most incredible people. She also worked on soap opera sets, setting up the look and integrating the clothes with the furniture.<\/p>\n

As part of her work, Andrea traveled all over the United States with feature trunk shows. She dressed celebrities; she learned how to work with women and create their perfect fit.<\/p>\n

Andrea Ward eventually opened her own store. A believer in giving back to her community, she began working with several charitable organizations and became a big advocate for helping victims of domestic violence. That\u2019s inspired Andrea to help women with their self-esteem. \u201cI believe that all women are the beautiful you.\u201d<\/p>\n

To bring the topic back to artists helping artists, I asked Andrea how a musician might begin to think about updating their own look or the look of their band. She used Maroon 5 to as an example:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat makes people think Maroon 5 is fabulous? Of course, their music is great, but what if Adam Levine showed up and he didn\u2019t have that swagger, that action sense of how he walks and looks and moves? Those are the things that achieve stature, standing and stage presence. It\u2019s about how you move your hands, how you smile and how you look at someone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course it is more than about how you move; it\u2019s about what you\u2019re wearing and your look. So, if you come out in all black, to define yourself in a shadow sense, sculpt your body and create a smoking style, you may want to change something about your makeup look that gives you a Lady Gaga sense too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andrea Ward mentions stars with swagger and fabulous looks, because when you bring it all together on top of great talent, you can really showcase yourself. She has put together a team to make it happen!<\/p>\n
