Dawn Douglas<\/p><\/div>\n

I’ve been writing poetry since the 8th grade, but I started honing my love for it in my senior year of high school (1993).\u00a0 I always wanted to be published and even submitted requests to some of the larger publishing companies.\u00a0 After either not hearing back from them or getting turned down, I became discouraged, but I kept writing.<\/p>\n

In October 2006, a friend of mine introduced me to a friend of hers who had just published his book of poetry.\u00a0 He gave me the roadmap and the information to the company he used, and the rest is history.<\/p>\n

I had a really good friend edit my fist book of poetry More than Poetry, 1993 until Infinity<\/em><\/a> and contacted Author House<\/a> to get the process started.\u00a0 My first book was released in March of 2007, and my second book,\u00a0A Journey through Infinity<\/em><\/a>, was just\u00a0published in February of this year.<\/p>\n

With both books, because I had a very good friend do all the editing, it cut down the cost of publishing and I copyrighted the books myself at\u00a0www.copyright.gov<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Writing is my first love, I may not do it all the time but I always come back to it.<\/span><\/p>\n

I also have two singles on iTunes and Amazon Music, Forever<\/em><\/a> and Echoes of Love<\/em><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

How thick she is<\/p>\n

By more than<\/p>\n

How full her lips are<\/p>\n

By more than<\/p>\n

The color of her eyes<\/p>\n

By more than<\/p>\n

The curvature of her body<\/p>\n

Her measurements<\/span><\/p>\n

Are not always<\/p>\n

36-24-36<\/p>\n

But she has beautiful curves<\/p>\n

Nonetheless<\/p>\n

She<\/p>\n

She refuses to be labeled<\/p>\n

She refuses to submit<\/p>\n

To one Genre<\/p>\n

One Faith<\/p>\n

One Category<\/p>\n

She<\/p>\n

She is above being petty<\/p>\n

She is above \u201che said she said\u201d<\/p>\n

She is above drama<\/p>\n

She is above ignorance<\/p>\n

She is above playing games<\/p>\n

She is focused<\/p>\n

Focused on being a better She<\/p>\n

Focused on building a happy home<\/p>\n

Focused on her family<\/p>\n

Her friends<\/p>\n

Her future<\/p>\n

She<\/p>\n

She has always<\/p>\n

Taken the road less traveled<\/p>\n

She has always<\/p>\n

Done the unthinkable<\/p>\n

Even when others<\/p>\n

Told her it was impossible<\/p>\n

She<\/p>\n

She is more beautiful<\/p>\n

Than any woman on TV<\/p>\n

She is sexier<\/p>\n

Than any lingerie model<\/p>\n

She is more sensual<\/p>\n

Than any woman you could imagine<\/p>\n

She<\/p>\n

She exudes beauty<\/p>\n

She embodies sensuality<\/p>\n

She has mastered being sexy<\/p>\n

Her beauty comes from<\/p>\n

The love she gives her man<\/p>\n

Her sensuality comes from<\/p>\n

The home cooked meals she prepares<\/p>\n

She is sexy<\/p>\n

Even while carrying your love child<\/p>\n

She<\/p>\n

She knows<\/p>\n

There is nothing more beautiful<\/p>\n

Than a woman<\/p>\n

Who is down for you<\/p>\n

Than a woman<\/p>\n

Who has your favorite drink waiting for you<\/p>\n

When you get home<\/p>\n

Than a woman<\/p>\n

Who is real with you<\/p>\n

And you can be real with her<\/p>\n

She<\/p>\n

She knows<\/p>\n

There is nothing more sensual<\/p>\n

Than her in the kitchen<\/p>\n

Cooking up some collard greens<\/p>\n

Fried chicken<\/p>\n

And corn bread<\/p>\n

Oh but wait<\/p>\n

She also makes<\/p>\n

Some mean lasagna<\/p>\n

Some fierce enchiladas<\/p>\n

And some slap yo momma<\/p>\n

\u2018Cause it\u2019s so good<\/p>\n

Jerk chicken<\/p>\n

She knows<\/p>\n

How to work her magic<\/p>\n

So her man is satisfied<\/p>\n

She always<\/p>\n

Leaves your mouth watering<\/p>\n

She<\/p>\n

She knows<\/p>\n

There is nothing sexier<\/p>\n

Than a woman\u2019s glow<\/p>\n

From carrying your love child<\/p>\n

Than a woman birthing your seed<\/p>\n

Sealing your bond<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She<\/p>\n

She has birthed<\/p>\n

Kings, queens and martyrs<\/p>\n

From her womb<\/p>\n

Life begins and ends<\/p>\n

With her<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She<\/p>\n

She is stripped of labels<\/p>\n

Stripped of false judgment<\/p>\n

Stripped of grudges<\/p>\n

Stripped of lies<\/p>\n

Stripped of hate<\/p>\n

She is stripped bare<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She<\/p>\n

She is more than<\/p>\n

Her skin tone<\/p>\n

She is more than<\/p>\n

How she fills out a shirt or some jeans<\/p>\n

She is more than intimate pleasure<\/p>\n

She is an epiphany<\/p>\n

Waiting for you to embrace<\/p>\n

She is euphoric<\/p>\n

Once you get to know her<\/p>\n

She is pure<\/p>\n

She is real<\/p>\n

Touch her mentally<\/p>\n

Caress her spiritually<\/p>\n

Love her physically<\/p>\n

\u2018Cause she is waiting<\/p>\n

Open your eyes<\/p>\n

Wipe the sleep away<\/p>\n

Take off your blinders<\/p>\n
